Opinion/Letter to the Editor
I pray for your deliverance. I have stayed quiet. I have prayed to do so. I have prayed that you will be released from the grips of evil. I know what I say and I say what I know. The devil disguises
The truth is that she [Jennifer Gregerson] is corrupt and a master of deceit. She used bribery, coercion and when necessary bullied others to succumb – this is all based on facts and real evidence. And yes, those are big words that I stood by then and I stand by again.
Let me be clear that there was no investigation that cleared her. In fact, the legal counsel we hired said after their investigation into the evidence that there was more than enough evidence to move forward that clearly showed malfeasance.
Why did we not move forward? Because it would be a long divisive battle that would have drained our city fiscally and emotionally. So we decided to wait. Wait for the re- election. Wait for the November 2nd 2021.
Mukilteo deserves a chance to rise above. It has everything it needs to shine as bright as it once was. She is not the leader to do so.
Out of 120+ employees over 100% turnover rate during the first 4 yrs. 200% of her directors and direct reports left during that same time. And so much more.
A majority council no-confidence vote stopped her for a minute but your vote against her will stop the deception forever.
I found out at that time that people did not know the strength of my character. But I did. I was impressed by the other Councilmembers who I stood with on this issue. They had integrity for our city that ran deep. This is what true political leadership is about.
To serve a community by speaking the truth when it is being destroyed, despite what it might cost you. I along with 3 others spoke the truth. It’s up to you to now act on those facts we presented. And if you think I am being harsh – you haven’t witnessed, been the person she turned on or been the person who others confided their heart breaking stories of her brutal threats, bullying and utter demeaning words because they simply didn’t do her bidding.
After a meeting just two months into my tenure, she threatened me physically and emotionally to shut up about an issue that I and the entire council were asking her questions on ……. She tried to bully me into submission – it was certainly surreal. I did say threaten and I did say bully. I do not use those word lightly. They are the correct descriptive words to use in this instance. No exaggeration. I was not scared but I certainly was shocked.
What made me truly sad was the amount of employees that shared that same experience.
For some reason God allowed me to see her evil and her truth clearly that first time. I learned firsthand that when people show you their character it’s up to you to believe them. I believed her.
I am not surprised if you are resisting this message….. once again people almost always turn on the truth teller rather than the person with the liars tongue. I now understand this.
I pray you choose wisely. I believe it can be better. While I have forgiven her we must not forget.
Choose better. Choose light. Choose Joe Marine November 2nd – Vote Marine for Mayor of Mukilteo.
I love you and I pray for you Mukilteo.
