Larch Way/Logan Road and Locust Way intersection close for construction

EVERETT—The intersection of Larch Way/Logan Road and Locust Way will close this summer as Snohomish County Public Works constructs a roundabout. The intersection will be fully closed June 25 and is expected to reopen September 4 before the start of the 2024-25 school year. A signed detour will be in place to direct drivers around the closure. See below for the full detour route.

The intersection improvement project includes constructing a single-lane roundabout and shared-use path, and the improvements are expected to improve traffic flow and intersection safety, and expand mobility for bicyclists and pedestrians. Work started in the area in early May, but the intersection has remained open while area schools are in session.

The project site and closed intersection are next to Logan Park. The park’s parking lot is closed to the public, but the park remains open and accessible by foot.

  1. The park’s parking lot will be closed? Are you allowed to park on Logan or Locust streets? I don’t think so. Will it be closed for the entire summer too?

  2. All I know is that a beautiful park has been completely decimated by this roundabout. Baffled as to why a normal stop light wasn’t put there instead. This would have saved this gem of a park as well as alleviated any traffic backup due to the original 4 way stop.

  3. For whatever reason they love round abouts. Their thought process is A LOT of minor accidents are better than a few, more serious accidents. My biggest problem with these round abouts are people think it’s okay for 2 directions ( like North and South) to flow through without letting East and West get a chance. So North and South get to where they want, while east and west have to play frog. Way to go Lynnwood or Bothell what ever it is now. 🤷🏼‍♀️
