Edmonds School District Brief

Building Bright Futures

Our school district is working hard to meet the needs of the incredible 20,812 students we serve. Our team of exceptional educators and support staff are dedicated to ensuring each one of our students deserves a bright and hopeful future full of infinite possibilities.

A strong foundation is key to building bright futures. Two critical long-range planning efforts underway to address this are:

(1) Blueprint 2025. A process to update our previous strategic direction that will develop clear, coherent and measurable long-range plans for the next five to seven years. This eight-month effort collected feedback from the community to aid in establishing both priorities and goals for the district. The final draft will be delivered to the Board of Directors in early June with an implementation goal of August 2019.

(2) Facilities & Bond Planning. For over a year, a committee has been examining the needs of our facilities as well as projected growth over the next 10 – 15 years. The committee’s recommendation will be presented to the Board of Directors in early June for consideration.

I would like to thank all who have helped shape this important work and the overall community for partnering with us. Together, we’re building bright futures!

Stay tuned for further updates.
