Op Ed: George Hurst on the death of Tirhas Tesfatsion

The tragedy that occurred at the Lynnwood Jail on July 13th has had a deep impact on our community and the City Council grieves with everyone who has been touched by this event.

The fact that there is an ongoing investigation limits the public comments by the Council.  But we want all parties to know that we are committed to having a thorough investigation with complete disclosure at its conclusion.

In the meantime, it is a frustrating time, a very frustrating time, we all want quick solutions, but we also want to make sure we have full and complete answers so that we can take appropriate actions to ensure the proper policies and procedures are in place.

George Hurst,
Lynnwood City Council President
