Social media threats deemed not credible, increased officer presence at Marysville schools

MARYSVILLE, Wash., December 16, 2021 — The Marysville Police Department is aware of the ongoing national and local social media threats towards schools. Marysville Police have investigated the non-specific local threats made via social media and has deemed them NOT CREDIBLE.

At the request of the Marysville School District, MPD will be providing additional officers around Marysville schools today and tomorrow.

In conjunction with the Marysville School District, the goal is to ensure that students, facilities, parents, and staff are confident that the school is safe.
