Snohomish, Wash. – The Wastewater Treatment Plant team at the City of Snohomish received a 2021 “Wastewater Treatment Plant Outstanding Performance” award. The City was one of 124 plants in Washington State that achieved top performance of its wastewater treatment plant operations in 2021 as evaluated by the Department of Ecology.
“This award is definitely a team effort…Karen and Frank [on the Wastewater Team] have a passion for doing their absolute best each and every day,” said Duane Leach, Lead Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. “It is nice to have a team that not only works well together but most importantly take pride in the work we do every day for the environment.”
“Turning wastewater into water that is clean enough to discharge into our waterways requires a team with skill, coordination, and dedication. I’m proud of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant team and glad to see their hard work recognized by the Department of Ecology,” said Mayor Linda Redmon.
The plant was rated one of the top performers in the state for regularly meeting numeric effluent limits and permit criteria, for conducting monitoring, and for reporting data as required.
