Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter, released a poll on the platform Friday asking users to vote on whether to “reinstate former President Trump” account. As of the time of publishing this article, there are over 6 million total votes with 54.5% voting yes.

Twitter, under former CEO Parag Agrawal, permanently suspended the 45th President of the United States, Donald J Trump’s account on January 8, 2021.
“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitter stated as its reasoning to permanently suspend the account of former President Trump.
