EDMONDS, Wash., March 2, 2023—Just before 3 a.m., Edmonds Police responded to a commercial alarm at Dank’s Wonder Emporium located at 7207 212th St SW in Edmonds. Upon arrival to the scene, an officer found a red minivan parked in front and a suspected lookout sedan stopped in the roadway.
Edmonds officers saw broken glass and suspected a burglary in progress. The suspected lookout sedan drove away, and the initial officer followed Interstate 5. The Sedan then recklessly took off when an attempt to stop it was made by Edmonds PD.
Edmonds PD broke off pursuit in compliance with state law.
Assisting officers did not locate the red van originally parked in front of Dank’s Wonder Emporium when arriving at the business, but it was seen following the officer that was following the suspected lookout sedan that gave chase. Officers were unable to attempt to stop the red van.
At the scene of the burglary, investigating officers reviewed the video, which showed two possible suspects in the minivan.
One of them used a sledgehammer to break the glass door of the business and enter with an unsuccessful attempt to remove the ATM.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and will work with other area departments.
