MARYSVILLE, Wash., September 2, 2023—Does your non-profit group have an event or project that will bring overnight visitors to Marysville? The City of Marysville has grant funding that could help make it happen. Applications for the Tourism Grant Program are open through 4:30 p.m. Monday, September 25.Â
The program aims to increase tourism and encourage overnight visitor stays in Marysville through tourism-related events and projects. Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to:
- Sporting events
- Conferences
- Trade shows
- Festivals
- Performing arts or entertainment
- Marysville tourism promotion
Qualified, private non-profit groups with demonstrated ability to accomplish projects are invited to apply; these may include organizations such as historical societies, art groups, chambers of commerce, museums and galleries, youth activity organizations and service clubs. Eligible applicants must be able to demonstrate nonprofit status.
Funding comes from a 2% lodging tax paid by customers of hotels and motels within Marysville city limits. Proposed projects must comply with state statutes that govern the use of lodging tax funds. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis for partial project cost reimbursement.
