LYNNWOOD, Wash., November 3, 2023—More than 4,000 children and parents participated in the first Trunk or Treat event at the Alderwood Mall by the Ruthless Ryderz Foundation on October 28. The event was sponsored by the City of Lynnwood and the Verdant Health Commission.
“This event demonstrated the power of a community coming together to create a safe and positive experience for children and families. There was something for every age and parents were able to access important resources. We look forward to supporting this event next year,” said Lisa Edwards, Verdant Superintendent.
The Alderwood Mall parking lot was transformed into a showcase of stunning low riders, impressing everyone with their sleek designs and pristine paint jobs. But it wasn’t just about the cars – there was something for everyone. The kids were treated to an abundance of candy, making their Halloween festivities even more special. Meanwhile, the adults had access to valuable resources and information, ensuring that everyone left with something meaningful.
Promoted as a safe trick or treat model, this event allowed for children to collect candy from more than 20 nonprofit organizations. The event also created an opportunity to give back. Participating families donated over 3,000 perishable goods were collected for the Lynwood Food Bank.
