LYNNWOOD, Wash., December 16, 2023—Dozens of kids joined law enforcement officers of the Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo and Lynnwood police departments and the Washington State Patrol for its annual Shop with a Cop event on Friday evening. This event was made possible by the Mukilteo Police Foundation.
“Our goal was to create lasting memories with youth in our great community. Over 30 kids from our Mukilteo School District were able to participate,” Mukilteo Police Department released in a statement. “We were able to share a meal, shop, and then wrap the gifts together. The night was amazing and magical for every kid, family and officer!
Before heading on buses to the Alderwood Parkway Fred Meyer, everyone enjoyed dinner at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located in Mukilteo then returned to the church where they wrapped gifts.
“Thank you to our host department Mukilteo Police Department for organizing the event,” the Lynnwood Police Department posted to Facebook. “We love getting out in our community and spending time with you! Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe holiday season!”
Shop with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for law enforcement to make a positive contribution to the community by sharing Christmas with children and families.
