MARYSVILLE—The Marysville City Council elected Michael Stevens to serve as Council President.
Stevens has served on the City Council since 2010 and served on the Planning Commission for two years before that. He earned his Municipal Leadership Certification from the Association for Washington Cities in 2012 and Advanced Certification in 2016.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve our city in this capacity,” Stevens said. “I appreciate the vote of confidence by my fellow Councilmembers.”
A partner with Everett-based Dykeman Architects, Stevens holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Pennysylvania. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Marysville with their five children.
The Council President leads City Council meetings in the Mayor’s absence and may represent the city at official functions.
