Snohomish County Developmental Disability Transition Resource Fair, March 26

EVERETT—Snohomish County Human Services invites community members to the “Transition Resource Fair” on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 4-8:30 p.m. at Cascade High School in Everett. The Fair is held each year as a free, community event that welcomes individuals with developmental disabilities (ages 12 and older), their families, caregivers, teachers, employees, and other interested community members.

The Fair is an opportunity to access and become educated on resources that will support each individual to pursue their employment/career goals. It includes agencies/resources that promote inclusive communities and create opportunities for individuals to pursue a full life.  Agencies will provide information on employment, advocacy, assistive technology, housing, transportation, guardianship, leadership opportunities, trusts, and more.

Free workshops will run from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Interested attendees do not need to pre-register. Workshops will include:

  • Do it Yourself Guardianship
  • Benefits 101
  • Preparing for Transition
  • Employment Support
  • Developmental Disability Administration Services
  • Guardianship and Alternatives
  • Preparing for Life after Highschool

“Snohomish County takes seriously our charge to support all in our community, and the Transition Resource Fair is our opportunity to provide information to individuals, families, and caregivers who have, or care for those with, developmental disabilities,” said Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers. “The Transition Resource Fair is always well attended because it is a one-stop-shop for resources and connections. We encourage attendance at this free event that helps make dreams come true.”
