BOTHELL—A 29-year-old man, Timothy D. Ewald, is now facing charges following a deputy-involved shooting at a Bothell apartment complex. It happened at the 20000 block of Bothell Everett Highway, around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Following an investigation by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART), Ewald was booked into Snohomish County Jail and is facing charges of Assault 1 DV, Burglary 1, and Burglary 1 DV.
Deputies responded to the apartment complex on Bothell Everett Highway, with reports of a physical domestic violence situation. Upon arrival, deputies found Ewald barricaded in an apartment with a 56-year-old female being held against her will. There was also a child in the apartment at the time.
After entering the apartment, one of the responding deputies deployed their Taser which was unsuccessful. Ewald then allegedly charged at deputies with a weapon, and a second deputy at the scene discharged their firearm, striking Ewald.
Ewald was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. No one else was seriously injured.
