Pilot is uninjured after Cessna makes emergency landing at Paine Field

EVERETT—A Cessna 337 made a hard landing on the main runway at the Seattle Paine Field International Airport in Everett after reporting issues with the aircraft’s rear landing gear Thursday morning. The pilot, and sole occupant of the aircraft was not injured, the airport said.

The incident occurred around 10:19 a.m. on Thursday morning, March 14. As the pilot prepared to land he radioed into the airport reporting his rear landing gears were having issues. He was able to successfully perform a belly-landing on one of the airport’s major runways.

The runway was closed while crews worked to clear the aircraft but the rest of the airport remained open.

The runway has since reopened to all traffic after Paine Field Fire removed the aircraft from the runway and its Field Operations and Maintenance teams conducted a clean up effort that spanned about an hour.

Paine Field has since notified the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration of the incident.
