“We have loved being a part of this community for the past ten years. It has helped shape us into who we are today,” said CEO, Kevin Eggen. “Although we are closing Lynnwood, we are continually looking for other locations in our current markets to grow,”

“Between now and March 29th, we hope our guests will visit us, say goodbye and enjoy that one last icy drop or ice-cold beer with us!  We want to thank them for their support,” added Eggen.

Hops n Drops operates 22 restaurants and employs over 1000 in the states of Washington, Oregon and Colorado. The Lynnwood restaurant opened in 2014 and currently employs 44 team members.  Almost half of the team members will be transferring to the Snohomish and Smokey Point Hops n Drops locations. General Manager, Laura Romero, will be transferring to Snohomish and will hold the position of General Manager.

There are plans to add two additional restaurants in Washington in 2024—one in Vancouver and one in Milton—scheduled for July and August respectively.

  1. This restaurant is our favorite. My personal favorite in the grilled cheese with tomato slices and a balsamic glaze and tomato basil soup with homemade chips.
The staff is really lovely and accommodating.

  2. Would have loved more detail on why they needed to close. Not enough business volume, change in volume, or other reason.

  3. There is a Hops and Drops in Snohomish near Home Depot, great service love the staff and excellent food my husband and I go at least once a week.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear this news. This store was one of the very first places we put out beer on tap and our first brewers night!

If you are looking for a new place with beer brewed in Lynnwood go a little further north on hwy 99 to Peace of Mind Brewing, we have an amazing taco truck 7 days a week.

We will be missing our partners at hops and drops.

  5. Sorry to see them go . But the big thing about Leasing in Lynnwood is they are price gauging all of these little community restaurants and other businesses . So a lot of them are packing up and moving to the Marysville & Arlington areas with a cheaper lease and a Red Carpet Welcome — Something that Lynnwood and their council members have lost in any contact with these businesses . All they care about is the light rail coming to town .

  6. Bummer! I love their fried shrimp basket and will miss it. There aren’t enough ” just regular food” places left in Lynnwood. Definitely don’t need any more Thai restaurants.

  7. I’ve only been there a few times and they were fine. I’ve lived in and around lynnwood for over 30 years, and I can honestly say that I’m not the least bit surprised.

  8. We will miss this location. Being less than 10 minutes from the house, It’s a family favorite for sit-down and take-out dinner.

  9. Lame. One of the few places in Lynnwood to get a decent burger for under $20. Not surprised though as the landlord for the whole complex jacked up rent on all the buildings by 7% this year (nearly 20% since the pandemic).

Hopefully they can find some place cheaper to rent here in Lynnwood, but pricing in the area is super ridiculous here compared to the rest of Snohomish county.

Thank you for the good times and the excellent service, Hop N Drops. Your Jalapeño burger was the best one I’ve had outside of Texas! Hoping your staff has the opportunity to transfer to a different location after closing.

    1. That is something that has never made sense to me. I understand rate increases but I would think a landlord would want a tenant instead of an empty space.

  10. What about the one at Smokey Point in Arlington Washington? Never seems like there’s anybody when I go by whether I’m in the parking lot of the strip mall or if I’m driving by on my way home it’s just looks empty.

  11. I love this restaurant and am sorry to see it go. I have lived in Lynnwood for 30 years and have seen the increasing uncontrolled homeless problem in this area. Customers are been accosted by homeless just trying to get into businesses like Hops n Drops. I can see why they are choosing not to renew their lease. It is simply not worth it for business to continue to try to do business when the City of Lynnwood lets the homeless issue grow out of control. 3 or 4 days a week there are 50-60 homeless gathered in this area roaming through the parking lot. Other business have left the area due to homeless issues. Families like mine, who live in this area are also taking costly measures to protect themselves from the exploding property crimes.

  12. I am sad to hear the news. It’s a great family friendly environment with something for everyone at great prices. Ever since the talk of light rail and reality of it all Lynnwood cares about is attracting high-end businesses and people. Sadly the owner of that complex can take a huge write off for the empty space and still line his/company/shareholders pockets with no regards for great businesses. I agree with many we need something with a variety like hops n drops and not another big chain subpar food and service place or only 1 type flavor.
