Lane closures on 36th/35th Ave in Lynnwood starting April 29

LYNNWOOD—Snohomish County Public Works announced that the widening and repaving of 36th/35th Avenue W north of Lynnwood, between 164th Street SW and SR-99 is to begin on April 29. Drivers should plan for lane closures and other periodic delays throughout the spring and summer—consider using alternate routes to avoid delays.

The project is expected to be complete in the fall of 2025. Please pay attention to construction signage and follow “no parking” signs.

When traveling near road project sites, the public should use caution, abide by posted signs, and provide ample space for flaggers and construction crews to work safely.

This two-mile corridor improvement is a joint effort between the City of Lynnwood and Snohomish County. The County’s project is the section between 164th St SW and Highway 99.

The planned improvements to the existing two-lane roadway include the addition of a two-way center turn lane, sidewalks, bike lanes, bus pullouts, streetlights, landscape features, and stormwater drainage facilities from 164th St SW to 148th St SW. The entire stretch of roadway, from 164th St SW to SR 99, will also be repaved. Also note that to make space for the improvements, all on-street parking will be eliminated.
