MUKILTEO—The Islamic Center of Mukilteo hosted its 9th annual Walk for Hope, Rally for Peace on Saturday, May 4.
Several dozen residents from Everett, Lynnwood, Edmonds, and Mukilteo walked from Endeavour Elementary and Pointe of Grace Lutheran Church advocating for firearm safety and bringing awareness to those suffering substance use disorder.
Former Mukilteo Councilman and President of the Islamic Center of Mukilteo gave a speech on helping one another and being one’s brother’s keeper.
“If you see anything unsafe, call law enforcement,” said Khan.
In December of 2023, Khan led a rally in Mukilteo calling for an end to all global conflicts.
“We want to bring people together and pray for what’s happening around the world,” Khan said. “We are here only to pray, wherever they [victims of war] are, to make sure they are safe and everyone in the world is safe.”
