Phase Two of the Mountlake Terrace revitalization project is designed to create a more accessible and well-connected community, with a focus on dense housing within walking distance of the Sound Transit light rail station scheduled to open in late August 2024. Phase One was completed in 2021.

“This investment is a significant stride forward for the Mountlake Terrace community. These improvements will not only make the city more livable but will also improve public safety, housing, and transit options for residents,” said DelBene. “I’m excited to have secured these resources for Mountlake Terrace and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our community.”

“We thank Congresswoman DelBene and all our partners for supporting the city’s vision, to connect thousands of new housing units and new jobs to light rail. Together, we are leading solutions to our biggest challenges. This means addressing congestion and climate change, creating an attractive environment for businesses and residents, and encouraging transit use,” said Mountlake Terrace Mayor Kyoko Matsumoto Wright.

DelBene secured over $18 million for 15 community projects across Washington’s 1st Congressional District in the FY24 federal funding package. Projects came directly from non-profit, city, county, Tribal, and state entities, and all funding secured was done in collaboration with project sponsors.
