LAKE STEVENS—At 6:12 a.m., Monday, June 3, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the 13000 block of 44th St. NE in Lake Stevens with reports of a single-wide mobile home that was fully involved in fire.
Battalion 81 arrived to find a large tree that had fallen across the mobile home, along with a downed power line. Battalion Chief 81 attempted to execute a 360-degree inspection but was delayed due to the live power line on the ground. PUD arrived and cut power to the line so fire personnel could continue to safely attack the fire.

Engine 81, Engine 82, and Engine 68 with Getchell Fire arrived and laid down approximately 2000 feet of supply line to a hydrant. Firefighters with Medic 81 and Aid 82 arrived and assisted with hoses. Once the water supply was established, all firefighters were able to defensively fight the fire with two attack hoses.
Snohomish County Sheriff deputies closed the road to traffic.
The owner of the home was away at the time the tree fell and the fire started. Unfortunately, a dog that was inside at the time of the incident has not been located. Firefighters will be on scene throughout the day to monitor the house.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Snohomish County Fire Marshals.
Article Update 3:40 p.m., June 3, 2024: Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue has confirmed that the dog was found deceased.
