SNOHOMISH COUNTYโExecutive Dave Somers announced on June 18 that Snohomish County is accepting applications for its annual tourism grant cycle. Applications will be accepted for the grant cycle from June 19 through August 28, 2024. The Hotel-Motel Small Fund total is projected to be $650,000 with project allocation amounts historically ranging from $5,000-$50,000.ย

โTourism is a core component of Snohomish Countyโs economy, and many families depend on visitor spending for their livelihoods. People from across the world travel here to explore our beautiful and diverse natural resources, thriving small business community, and innovative aerospace sector,โ said Executive Somers. โThis grant program helps boost visitation so that more communities can sustainably explore our singular county with attractions that canโt be found anywhere else.โ
โGrants funded by hotel taxes play an important role in supporting our countyโs cultural and economic vibrancy,โ said Councilmember Megan Dunn, who is Chair of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. โThese funds go a long way to empower local tourism initiatives and ensure that our county remains a place that can preserve the beauty of our region while cultivating a strong tourism industry.โ
Eligibility of sponsors and projects will be defined broadly to encourage wide participation and innovative proposals per Snohomish County Code (SCC) 4.40.060 and funds will be awarded for projects or purposes authorized under Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapter 67.28.
