Sound Transit Lynnwood Link new construction road closures

Link light rail service to Shoreline, Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood begins August 30. With four new stations, 1 Line trains run every 8–10 minutes, offering you yet another choice to get where you want to go.

Construction Crews working on the Lynnwood Link Extension will be paving roads near Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood Transit Center resulting in closures as early as Monday, August 12 through Thursday, August 22.

Nightly full closure of 236th St SW

Starting Wednesday, Aug. 7, Sound Transit’s contractor will continue mill and overlay work on 236th St SW in Mountlake Terrace. This work will require closing the street at night. The contractor obtained a temporary noise variance to complete this work. Detours will be provided (see map). 

236th St SW, from I-5 northbound off-ramp to 59th Pl:

  • Weekdays starting on Wednesday, Aug. 7 through Thursday, Aug. 22, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. the following mornings.

Center lane closure on 44th Ave W

Starting Monday, Aug. 12, Sound Transit’s contractor will continue median demo and road paving on 44th Ave W. This work will require crews to close the center lane on southbound 44th Ave W, north of 200th St SW. The left turn lane will be closed, so we will provide a detour to travel eastbound on Alderwood Mall Blvd. The contractor obtained a temporary noise variance to complete this work.
