Snohomish County Search & Rescue recovers body near Del Campo Peak

SNOHOMISH COUNTY—On Monday, August 19, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue (SAR) team and volunteers from Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue recovered the body of a 36-year-old man who died while climbing at Del Campo Peak.

Around 9 a.m. Monday, the male was climbing with a friend when he fell 40-50 feet on to rocky terrain. His climbing partner performed lifesaving measures but attempts to resuscitate the subject were unsuccessful.

The victim’s body was airlifted from the location and flown to Taylor’s Landing where the Snohomish County Medical Examiner took custody of him. The Medical Examiner will provide positive identification of the decedent, as well as determine the cause and manner of death.
