Public invited to virtual Coffee Chat on Future Workforce Needs and Upskilling Strategies 

EVERETTEconomic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC) will host its next Coffee Chats episode, Future Ready Workforce: Strategies for Upskilling, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. This virtual event will feature industry experts discussing the evolving workforce landscape and essential skills for future success. 

Moderated by Wendy Poischbeg, Interim President & CEO of EASC, the panel includes Jim Vleming, Regional Labor Economist with the Employment Security Department; Essentia “Tia” Rivera, Senior Manager of Workforce Development at The Boeing Company; Kristina Young, Academic Pipelines Lead in Workforce Development at Boeing; Herman Calzadillas, Senior Director of Business Engagement at Workforce Snohomish; and Dr. Joseph Williams, ICT Sector Lead at the Washington State Department of Commerce. 

“As the workforce landscape continues to evolve, staying ahead of the curve is crucial for sustaining competitive advantage and fostering economic growth,” says Poischbeg. “This event will delve into future workforce needs and highlight the essential skills and technical abilities required to thrive in the ever-changing job market.” 

The discussion will cover the impact of artificial intelligence on future jobs, strategies for upskilling current employees, and emerging workforce trends. Attendees will gain practical insights and learn strategies to address the challenges and opportunities ahead.
