SULTAN—Three Snohomish County Sheriff Deputies were taken to hospital on October 1 following a vehicle chase on Highway 2 near Monroe.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to a report of a vehicle theft in the 12000 block of 316th Ave SE at around 6:00 a.m. on October 1, and quickly located the stolen vehicle, prompting a pursuit that traveled west on Highway 2 through Monroe.
The chase concluded when deputies deployed spike strips, stopping the vehicle in the 14200 block of Highway 2.
Following the chase, three deputies were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries resulting from a collision between their vehicles.
The driver, an adult male from Seattle, was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for minor injuries and was then booked into the Snohomish County Jail for eluding, second-degree assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
A passenger in the vehicle was transported to the hospital for minor injuries and later released.
Highway 2 was closed from Westwick Road and Roosevelt Road SE due to an ongoing investigation and reponed shortly before 12 p.m. on Tuesday.
