How to provide testimony. This is an open record hearing. All members of the public are welcome to provide testimony. Here are your options:

  • In-person testimony. Anyone in the Council Chambers may comment during the public input portion of the hearing. Testimony should be in the form of statements, not questions.
  • Written testimony. You may email your comments or deliver physical copies to City Hall until 4pm on the day of the hearing. Please email comments to planningdept@mukilteowa.gov.

If you have a disability which may limit your participation in the hearing process, please contact the City Clerk’s office at 425.263.8005 at least three business days in advance of the hearing to arrange accommodations.

Where to find more information. Project documents, including any environmental checklists or supplemental reports, are available on the city’s website: mukilteowa.gov/land-use-action-notices.

Importance of Public Comment. The public process and feedback from the community are essential parts of land use planning. Some projects have clear rules and regulations, and some projects involve more discretion. Regardless, it’s helpful to hear thoughts and opinions from the community. All commenters become parties of interest which keeps them in the loop on future notices and also makes them eligible to appeal the final decision. Note that form letters and petitions are not considered comments for the purposes of land use review.
