Meta services are currently experiencing an outage as many of its apps are not loading or experiencing limited functionality. According to The Verge, services such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp are not loading. IsDown is stating that this could be due to either a major or minor outage, where Meta’s systems are experiencing critical issues or performance degradation.
Users unable to refresh feeds, send messages, share posts, post, or log in. The outage appears to be global, affecting users not just in one region but around the world. Users from across the United States reported problems starting around 1:00 pm EST.
On October 4, 2021, Meta and is subsidiaries Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Mapillary, and Oculus, became globally unavailable for a period of up to seven hours.
