EVERETT—The Washington Wolfpack Arena Football Team is thrilled to announce its return to Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett for the start of its highly anticipated second season in March 2025—starting a 14-week regular season mid-month. Competing in the Arena Football 1 (AF1) League, the Washington Wolfpack promises to bring fast-paced, high-scoring, family-friendly football action back to Everett and its passionate fanbase.
After a successful inaugural season, the Washington Wolfpack is ready to make an even bigger impact on and off the field. Known for its exciting play and #OneCommunity approach to its neighbors, the team is determined to build on its momentum, providing a thrilling game-day experience and inspiring fans throughout the region.
The Wolfpack roster features a dynamic mix of talented athletes, from promising young players to seasoned veterans, all of whom are determined to bring pride and success to the Pacific Northwest. The team also continues its efforts to grow local partnerships and provide outreach programs, further cementing a role as a cornerstone of the community.
The Wolfpack made their mark on the first day of free agency by signing quarterback Joseph Hess. Hess stands at 6’5 and 225 pounds as a former five-sport athlete who played both college football and basketball. Hess played arena football for the past two seasons and against the Wolfpack as a member of both the West Texas Desert Hawks and Wichita Regulators. He’s excited to get started:
“I chose Washington because any good organization historically starts at the top. I know our ownership, front office, and coaching staff are about winning and empowering young men to excel outside of the AF1. Excellent people run this organization, and it shows”
Returning to the Wolfpack, albeit in a different role is kicker Melissa Strother. She made history in 2024 by becoming the first female athlete to score a point in the Arena Football League with the Washington Wolfpack. After announcing her retirement as a player, Strother continues to make history by joining the Wolfpack coaching staff as its Special Teams Coordinator for the 2025 season. For Head Coach JR Wells, Christmas has definitely arrived early:
“2025 is set to be a year to remember! We’ve strengthened our core with the addition of the dynamic left-handed gunslinger Joseph Hess and tightened up our coaching staff by welcoming back Melissa Strother, who brings a wealth of football knowledge and special teams expertise. With this level of talent and experience, we’re ready to bring the energy, the intensity, and a championship mindset to the 2025 season. This is the year we compete for the title!”
