LYNNWOOD—With extreme weather in Snohomish County Wednesday night, leading into Thursday, the Lynnwood Recreation Center, local garbage pickups, and transit services have been impacted by snowfall.
Waste Removal
In Snohomish County, residential customers of Waste Management Northwest south of Stillaguamish River and North of Snohomish River, will not have their garbage collected today. Waste Management Northwest asks customers to please remove carts from the curb and place them out on the next available service day. The waste management company will collected the missed garbage when they can at no extra charge. Â
Customers within the City of Lynnwood will also not have their garbage collected today.
Schools and Recreation Center activities
All schools within the Edmonds School District have been cancelled today.Â
In addition the Lynnwood Recreation Center has cancelled the following programs:
- Swim lessons starting before 3:00 p.m.
- All Senior Center programs
- All preschool programs starting before 3:00 p.m.Â
- All water fitness classes
Any other cancellations of evening activities will be announced on PlayLynnwood.com by 2:00 p.m. If nothing is posted the Rec Center is operating as usual.
All remaining recreation classes will run as scheduled and the Recreation and Senior Centers will remain open throughout the day.
Cancellations of off-site trips will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Road Closures
Snohomish County Public Works is continuing to do their duty snowplowing and sanding. As of today, according to recent Snohomish County Road Closure information, the only local roads that are currently closed is North Sauk River Road, running through Darrington, and Mountain Loop Highway east of Granite Falls.Â

Transit
Community Transit bus services are continuing on regular routs.Â
Some Sound Transit Express Bus services have been impacted including:Â
- Route 512 trips departing at 12:40 p.m. and 1:30 from the Lynnwood Transit CenterÂ
- Route 522 is being rerouted off Beardslee Boulevard near Bothell
- Route 535 trip departing at 12:20 from Lynnwood City Center has been cancelled. This route continued to be rerouted due to snowÂ
- Route 542 is not serving West Lake Sammamish Parkway between Leary Way NE and State Route 520 due to a road closure
- Route 545 is being rerouted also off West Lae Sammamish Parkway for the same road closure
- Route 550 is not operating on NE 4th Street due to weather conditions
- Route 554 is on a snow reroute due to road conditions
- Route 574 is experiencing a stop closure at 188th Street South and 46th Street Avenue South until further notice
- Express Route 578 departing at 11:35 a.m. has been cancelled today
Additional transit service routes may be rerouted for safety without notice.
