MONROE—On Monday, February 10, at 4:26 p.m., Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue (SRFR) was dispatched to the 12900 block of SR-522, east of Fales Road, following reports of a high-speed head-on collision between an older model Chevrolet Suburban with two occupants, a 73-year-old female and a 75-year-old male, a BMW sedan with one occupant, a 23-year-old Monroe resident.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that one occupant of the Suburban had self-extricated and was on the ground. The drivers of both vehicles required extrication by SRFR firefighters.
According to WSP, the BMW was traveling eastbound on SR-522 when it crossed into the centerline and struck the Suburban head on.

All three individuals sustained serious injuries and were classified as Advanced Life Support (ALS) patients. Paramedics transported them to local hospitals, though their current conditions are unknown.
SR-522 was closed for several hours during emergency operations.
