Sound Transit Lynnwood Link new construction alert Feb 15

Sound Transit will close westbound NE 175th St between 5th Ave NE and the northbound I-5 on-ramp intersection for signal work starting February 15. A second lane closure will begin on February 18 along northbound right lane at NE 185th St and NE 175th St to the northbound I-5 on-ramp for barrier work.

Sound Transit Construction Alert: Signal work at NE 175th St 

On the morning of Saturday, Feb. 15, Sound Transit will close westbound NE 175th St between 5th Ave NE and the northbound I-5 on-ramp intersection for signal work. The contractor has received a temporary noise variance for this work.

What 

  • Westbound lanes of NE 175th St between 5th Ave NE and the northbound I-5 on-ramp intersection will be closed. 
  • Residents should expect construction noise from equipment such as a work truck with a boom lift and various hand tools. 
  • Emergency vehicle access will be maintained. 
  • Some bus routes may be affected. Please check the King County Metro website for details. 

When

  • Saturday, Feb. 15, 5 a.m.–11 a.m.

  • Westbound NE 175th St between 5th Ave NE and the northbound I-5 on-ramp intersection. 

Sound Transit Construction Alert: Nightly closures at NE 175th St and shoulder work at NE 185th St

Continuing Tuesday, Feb. 18, Sound Transit crews will be closing the northbound right lane at NE 185th St and NE 175th St to the northbound I-5 on-ramp. Crews will be performing barrier work along the northbound I-5 right shoulder, next to the Shoreline North/185th St Station.

What 

  • Crews will be performing this work at night due to ramp closure restrictions to reduce effects on traffic. 
  • Residents can expect construction noise from equipment being operated at night, such as a demolition saw, a chipping gun, generators, a semi truck, a CAD truck, an excavator, light plants, and various hand tools. 
  • This work will take 5 nights to complete. If the work becomes delayed or takes longer than expected, new ramp closures will be scheduled and a new flyer will be provided to residents.  

When

  • Tuesday, Feb. 18 – Thursday, Feb. 20, 11 p.m. – 5 a.m. the following mornings. 
  • Monday, March 3 – Tuesday, March 4, 11 p.m. – 5 a.m. the following mornings.    

Where

  • Northbound I-5 on-ramp from NE 175th St. 
  • Along northbound I-5 shoulder, from NE 185th St to NE 188th St.
