Celebrate Earth Day at Marysville’s newest park

MARYSVILLE—Put your commitment to environmental stewardship into action when you join the Earth Day Cleanup on Tuesday, April 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Gissberg Twin Lakes Park.

You can help restore the beauty of the park by volunteering to tackle litter and make a real impact on our local community. Parks staff will provide litter grabbers, trash bags and gloves. No prior registration is needed — just show up and check in with a staff member. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old or accompanied by an adult. Park address is 16360 Twin Lakes Ave., Marysville.

The city’s newest park, Gissberg Twin Lakes Park was transferred to the city from Snohomish County in January. It’s a popular fishing spot and also offers a beach and picnic area along with easy hiking in a nature preserve. Open hours are 7 a.m. to sunset.

Next up at the park: Mark your calendar for the Kids’ Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Find more info at https://www.marysvillewa.gov/1163/Kids-Fishing-Derby.
