Serving on the Board offers a unique chance to contribute to the growth and development of parks and recreation programs that enhance the quality of life for all residents. The District has great plans on the horizon and looks forward to incorporating fresh ideas and perspectives into its initiatives.  Skills or related experience in any of the following areas would be helpful: real estate, park or recreation experience, business, land management, landscaping, marketing, or public service experience.

Requirements for Board Membership:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Residency within the East County Parks and Recreation District, which aligns with the Monroe School District boundaries, is required.
  • Board members must be available to attend monthly meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month.

The District is governed by a five-member, non-paid, elected Board of Commissioners who are elected to 4-year, staggard terms.

East County Parks and Recreation District strongly encourages all passionate and community-minded individuals to consider applying. Your thoughts and feedback about parks and recreational programming are invaluable to us, and we welcome your voice at the decision-making table.
