LYNNWOOD—A Lynnwood mother and her adult son were transported to hospital after a stabbing incident Sunday evening. They both are in stable condition.

At about 6:40 p.m., Sunday, April 27, Lynnwood Police responded to a call of a stabbing in the 18600 block of 42nd Pl W. Officers were told a female had been stabbed by her adult son. The female and her husband were able to exit the house and meet with officers, while the adult son stayed inside, and refused to come out.
Upon arrival, officers met with the female victim who was still conscious and alert. She was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries by medics.
Officers learned the adult son suffered from mental health issues and was refusing to come out of the house. After a brief standoff, the adult son surrendered to officers and was taken into custody for Assault in the 1st degree.
Once in custody, officers learned the adult son had a self-inflicted injury, which required him to be transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Upon release of the suspect, he will be transported and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Assault in the 1st degree.
