LYNNWOODโOn Saturday, April 26th, Experience Momentum hosted its second annual Sweat for the Environment event, a high-energy Earth Day fitness competition and community fundraiser, donating $10,000ย for environmental nonprofits throughout the Puget Sound region.

Held at the companyโs Lynnwood location, this one-of-a-kind event combined wellness, community, and environmental action. Twenty-five teams of two competed in three challenging fitness events designed to test strength, stamina, and teamworkโall while raising awareness and funds for environmental causes.
While athletes vied for top scores, the real winner was the environment. Prize money went to the winners’ chosen nonprofits:
- 1st Place: $750 donation
- 2nd Place:ย $500 donation
- 3rd Place: $250 donation
Total Donations: $9,000 distributed among One Percent for the Planet-approved organizations.

What made the event especially powerful was the on-site presence of eight local environmental nonprofits, all sharing their missions and engaging directly with attendees:
- EarthCorpsย โ Mobilize emerging leaders and volunteers to restore local ecosystems and grow global environmental stewards.
- The Service Boardย โ Build community through snowboarding, mentorship, and youth leadership development for historically marginalized teens.
- Washingtonโs National Park Fundย โ The official philanthropic partner for Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks.
- North Cascades Instituteย โ Connect people, nature, and community through transformative learning experiences in the North Cascades.
- Sound Salmon Solutionsย โ Restore salmon habitat and educate communities about the health of our watersheds.
- Glacier Peak Instituteย โ Provide hands-on STEM and outdoor education for youth in rural and underserved communities.
- Puget Soundkeeperย โ Protect and preserve the waters of Puget Sound through science, policy, and on-the-water action.
- Viva Farmsย โ Empower beginning farmers and preserve sustainable farmland by providing resources and training.
Nonprofit leaders spoke highly of the event’s structure and impact:
