SNOHOMISH COUNTY—Snohomish County Department of Conservation & Natural Resources’ (DCNR) Office of Energy & Sustainability is hosting a Climate Resilience Open House for residents and community partners on Wednesday, July 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Student Center of Mariner High School (200 120th St SW, Everett, WA 98204).

This event provides an opportunity to learn about climate impacts in Snohomish County including: hotter, drier summers; flooding; increasingly intense storms; sea level rise; and wildfire smoke. Input from attendees will help shape Snohomish County’s newly developing Communitywide Climate Resiliency Plan (CwCRP).
What attendees can expect:
- Interactive educational stations and activities about climate trends and vulnerabilities in the region
- Chance to win emergency preparedness supplies like a thermal blanket
- Opportunities to share input on local priorities for protecting communities, businesses, infrastructure, and ecosystems
- Light snacks and refreshments served; event is family‑friendly and youth‑welcoming
- Spanish interpretation will be available. To request an additional language, email climate@snoco.org by July 21.
For those unable to attend in person, the County welcomes feedback via an online survey at https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/edb0fb8e9ce74db39d71f07fc11b99ca.
“Climate change is already impacting our county, and community voices are essential to building a plan that meets our shared needs,” said Molly Beeman, Office of Energy & Sustainability Manager. “We look forward to hearing what residents, businesses, and youth envision as their climate priorities.”
The Communitywide Climate Resiliency Plan aims to prioritize equitable and actionable responses to climate risks across Snohomish County. It will guide future investments in adaptation, resilience, and environmental equity, and ensure that plans reflect the voices of those most affected.
