Fairwinds Brighton Court annual Car Show raises $2,000 for South County Fire

LYNNWOOD—The Fairwinds Brighton Court annual charity Car Show was a resounding success Saturday, July 19, with hundreds attending and raising at least $2,000 for South County Fire. There was a total of 35 entries this year— a step up from last year’s 17 – from Camaros, to Bentleys, to Mustangs and more.

“It was an absolutely fantastic turnout. We had some remarkable cars here,” said Cayce Miller, Sales Manager for Fairwinds Brighton Court.

In addition to jaw-dropping vehicles guests could appreciate live music by Lakewood-based Uncle Buzzy, a 1960’s rock-n-roll cover band, enjoy a barbecue lunch, and purchase tickets to soak Fairwinds staff in a charity dunk tank.

Fairwinds Brighton Court raised $300 from the dunk tank, $875 from registrations, and another $900 from food sales. Food included hot dogs and hamburgers.

According to Colleen Loveridge, Activity Director at Fairwinds Brighton Court, the dunk tank was a new addition this year and was an absolute “hit.”

“We’ve been having a really good time with it,” Loveridge told the Lynnwood Times.

Everett resident Kathy Tredway, who displayed her 1965 Mustang Fastback, told the Lynnwood Times she has always been attracted to cars – especially Mustangs because they look “powerful and mean.”

Tredway often takes her Mustang on drives with friends, even racing it on the Evergreen Speedway once, beating out a Ford Galaxy, she said.

Another car show participant, Warren Isserlis, who has a customized 2015 Kia Optima which he began building 11-years ago after retiring from 41 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. The car is customized with a metallic purple wrap, sliding Lamborghini doors, a 420-horsepower turbo engine, and painted hood memorializing all his friends he lost in the military.
