Snohomish man dies in five-car fatal collision

LAKE STEVENS—Washington State Patrol is reporting the death of Steven C Prussel, 61, of Snohomish, who was pronounced dead at the scene following a fatal collision involving up four other vehicles shortly after 4:08 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Prussel was driving his 2016 Ford Fusion eastbound on State Road 92 when his vehicle was struck, at mile point 2-9, by a vehicle driven by Gary Lindell also traveling eastbound, according to WSP.

The collision resulted in Prussel’s vehicle striking two other eastbound cars before crossing traffic then striking another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.  

Lindell and the driver of the oncoming vehicle were transported to Providence Hospital with injuries. Prussel was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

All parties in the five-car collision were wearing seatbelts, and no drugs nor alcohol were suspected to have contributed to the fatal collision.
