ERA entered 24 boats, representing its youth and adult programs along with high school alumni, staff, and board members. The club earned strong results, collecting five first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, and one third-place finish.

First-place results came in the men’s open 2- with Brody Schuh and Jacob Poissant; the women’s masters 1x with Valerie DuMond; the men’s masters 8+ featuring Chase Barrows, Zach Weber, Allen Cox, David Steel, Barry West, Jon Campaña, Patrick Secor, Brian Wagner, and Dustin Mara; the women’s open 8+ with Taylor Fausey, Isabella Ulloa, Mallory Potts, Kari Seaberg, Hannah Stively, Sam Lewis, Lucy Nault, Zoe Whicker, and Izzy Michaelson; and the men’s junior 4+ with Schuh, Poissant, Alex Klarman, Finn O’Brien, and Dalton Mara.

Second-place finishes included the women’s masters 2x (DuMond and Rene Porubek), the women’s open 1x (Josie Roberts), and the mixed parent/child 2x (Steel and Elliott MacArthur). Rounding out the medal haul was a third-place finish in the women’s masters 4x with DuMond, Jane Reynolds, Patricia McClure, and Debbie Stanley.

“We were so happy to see youth athletes, adult athletes, alumni, and staff all race together and with great results. A particular standout moment was one of our adult rowers, Valerie DuMond, and one of our youth rowers, Josie Roberts, taking first and second, respectively in their races,” said ERA Executive Director Jon Campaña. “Valerie has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the sport, including rowing at the University of Washington, while Josie will be a senior in high school this year. While they are at different stages in their lives, Valerie and Josie are incredible athletes and represent Everett Rowing with excellence.”

According to Campaña, the Green Lake regatta highlighted the strength of the Everett Rowing community, bringing together youth, adults, alumni, and staff to work toward a common goal. From rigging boats and helping on the dock to celebrating victories side by side, the event showcased the teamwork and support that extend well beyond an athlete’s time at the boathouse.

Up next, Everett Rowing Association will be at the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival from Sept. 5–7, and will return to Seattle on Sept. 21 for the Pink Ribbon Row, an annual event supporting local breast cancer patients.

“We are excited to wrap up our best summer season ever and start the fall rowing season on Sept. 2,” Campaña said. “This summer, we saw the most athletes in the history of our organization attend rowing camps, and now we are seeing a surge of new rowers coming through our boathouse doors. With a thriving middle school program and the largest high school novice squad we’ve seen in years, we are gearing up for a very fast and fun fall season.”
