Utah Governor Spencer Cox this morning on NBC News’ Meet the Press and ABC News’ This Week confirmed that Tyler Robinson, 22, is not cooperating with law enforcement, not confessed to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, lived with his boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female, and espouses “leftist ideology.” Formal charges against Robinson will be filed on Tuesday and at which time, Gov. Cox said, more will be revealed.
“He [Tyler Robinson] has not confessed to authorities,” Governor Cox told Martha Raddatz of This Week on Sunday. “He is not cooperating…We can confirm that his roommate was a boyfriend, who is transitioning from male-to-female. That’s information the FBI had mention yesterday we confirm as well and that he [the boyfriend] is cooperating with authorities as well.”
The boyfriend of alleged assassin Tyler Robison is 22-year-old Lance Twiggs, according to a relative the New York Post reported. A family member in an exclusive interview by Wisconsin Right Now on Saturday, alleged that “He [Lance Twiggs] is very angry with anyone who is supportive of conservative ideals and Christian values.”
The family member shared that he believed Twiggs began transitioning from male to female four years ago and also stated that “Robinson was Lance Twiggs’ boyfriend.”
Multiple pictures and videos have surfaced of Twiggs donning “furry” gear. A furry is someone who participates in the furry subculture, which revolves around an interest in anthropomorphic animal characters—animals with human-like traits, such as walking, talking, or having distinct personalities. Furries tend to dress up in animal characters and many attend annual furry conventions throughout the U.S. to celebrate and affirm their animal identity.

Twiggs is the person who provided law enforcement the Discord messages allegedly from Robinson stating he needs to “retrieve a rifle from a drop point,” having left a rifle in a bush wrapped in a towel. The messages also referred to engravings on bullets and a mention of a scope and the rifle being unique. Robinson in those messages also mentioned changing outfits.
Gov. Cox said that it appears Twiggs “did not have any knowledge” that his boyfriend was going to allegedly assassinate Kirk. Gov. Cox did confirm that Robinson is from a conservative family but that he did not share his family’s conservative views.
Cox believed that Robinson was radicalize by “deep dark internet Reddit culture and these other dark places of the internet…you saw that on the casings.”
“I believe social media has played a direct role in every single assassination and assassination attempt we have seen over the last five, six years,” said Gov. Cox.

- “Hey Fascist! Catch! Up arrow symbol, right arrow symbol and three down arrow symbols.” (This is an ANTIFA related symbolism and messaging. The three-arrow symbol is tied to anti-fascism movements of WW2 and also tied to the Helldivers 2 game.)
- “Oh Bella Chow, Bella Chow, Bella Chow, Chow Chow.” (This is an ANTIFA related symbolism and messaging. It refers to an Italian song dedicated to the Italian resistance and anti-fascist forces in WW2.)
- “If you read this, you are gay, LMAO.”
According to Andy Ngo, known for his investigative journalism of far-left and Antifa-related activities, symbols like “Bella Ciao” on a rifle cartridge that typically aligned to far-left ANTIFA.

Research from the Southern Poverty Law Center (2020) indicates Antifa’s decentralized structure relies on cultural symbols like “Bella Ciao” to unify its militants. The 2019 Tacoma ICE facility attacker Vishal Singh referenced “Bella Ciao” in his manifesto. Corporate records reveal that Singh had a company named “Bella Ciao Cinema,” further tying him to ANTIFA symbolism.
Democratic influencer Olivia Julianna who is known for her work with Gen-Z for Change, shared the potential ramifications of Kirk’s death in an Instagram post on September 11, a day after the shooting.
“I don’t think enough of you [Democrats] understand who Charlie Kirk actually was to the Republican Party,” said Julianna. He was not just an influencer who did debates and went on podcasts. “If you are a Republican who works in politics and you are under the age of 35, you came up through the ranks of Turning Point USA. He was one of the most powerful people in the country. He was not just some guy who made social media videos. The very powerful people who he was close to and who were indebted to him are not just going to let this go.
“So no, I am not happy that he is dead. I wish he was alive because I understand what his death actually means.”
After Kirk’s widow Erika Kirk addressed to the nation Friday, September 12, on the assassination of her husband, it is reported that Turning Point USA now has received at least 32,000 new requests for chapters in high schools and colleges around the country.
“If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea,” Mrs. Kirk said during Friday’s address. “You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country. In this world, you have no idea. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”
Mrs. Kirk along with their two children attended the fateful event at Utah Valley University and witnessed, firsthand, the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
