On Saturday, August 16th, at approximately 5:00 pm, Mill Creek Police were dispatched to theย Swift Orange Lineย bus stop at the 800 block of 164th St. SE, in response to a report of an assault with a weapon.ย  When officers arrived, they learned that several juveniles already on the bus got into a physical altercation with a male and a female who later entered the coach at this location.ย

The male and female exited the bus, and shots were exchanged between the male outside the bus and the juveniles inside.  All suspects fled on foot before police arrived. There were no injuries due to the gunfire.

A K-9 unit was able to locate and detain two juveniles. One juvenile was released to the hospital for treatment of a canine bite, while the other was released to a parent.ย  At that time Detectives identified one additional juvenile and continued to investigate other subjects involved.

Through coordinated efforts and investigative work, Mill Creek Police identified five individualsโ€”four juveniles and one adultโ€”who were directly involved in the shooting. With the assistance of the Snohomish County Sheriffโ€™s Office Violent Offenders Task Force, and the MCPD, all suspects have been taken into custody.

“I would like to thank the MCPD Investigations Unit, especially Det. White, for their commitment to closing this case,” said Mill Creek Police Chief, Stan White. “I would also like to thank Sgt. Dill and the members of the Snohomish County Violent Offenders Task Force for their assistance and perseverance in apprehending the suspects.”

The case has now been forwarded to the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office. This is a developing story.
