November 1st: Quantum’s Spooktacular V5 Robotics Competition

This is a Middle and High School regional tournament composed of teams from the state of Washington and potentially teams from neighboring regions (BC & Oregon). There will be 60-70 teams participating in this spooky event, where we are mixing the atmosphere of Halloween with the competition of VEX Robotics. Doors will open at 7:30 AM on November 1st, and the event will finish around 6 PM.

January 9th-11th: Ignite the Northwest V5RC Signature Event

This is a High School international tournament composed of teams from around the United States and Canada. Teams will fly into the state of Washington to compete for 3 qualification spots to the World Championships held in St. Louis in April. The event will have a capacity of 140 high-quality and eager teams. There will be 2 divisions and a lot more matches happening over the course of the 3-day event.

The VEX V5 Robotics Competition is an educational robotics competition for middle and high school students worldwide. Each year, a new game is unveiled at the end of the World Championships to kickstart every season. Students are then tasked with designing, building, programming, testing, and competing within this game for the season.

This year’s competition is called Push Back. Matches are comprised of 2 alliances, 1 red and 1 blue, with each containing 2 robots. The match begins with a 15-second pre-programmed autonomous section where teams are trying to score the most points and win the autonomous bonus. After the autonomous winner is decided, there is a 1-minute 45-second driver controller period where teams are let loose to try to score as many points as they can to beat the other alliance.
