MARYSVILLE—Corporal Aly Babcock of the Marysville Police Department was recently honored as one of the International Association of Chiefs of Police’s 2025 40 Under 40 award recipients, a prestigious global recognition celebrating emerging leaders in law enforcement.

Babcock joins a distinguished group recognized for their innovation, integrity and service to their communities. Her career includes more than 340 DUI arrests, 55 drug influence evaluations, and three years as a field training officer. She serves as a standardized field sobriety instructor and is a Medal of Valor recipient. Her work has earned her Officer of the Year honors in both Marysville and Wenatchee, along with two Chief’s Awards from Seattle Police Department, one for her work on a complex child sexual assault investigation. Babcock responded to the initial call, ensured the victim’s safety and collected critical evidence within a 16-hour shift that led to the suspect’s arrest.

“She quickly earned the trust and respect of her peers,” said Marysville Police Chief Erik Scairpon. “To have her selected from candidates around the world is a true honor for our department.”
A former Army National Guard Sergeant and one of the first female combat engineers in the U.S. Army, Babcock brings a strong sense of purpose and mentorship to her role. She credits Marysville’s supportive leadership and collaborative culture for helping officers thrive.
