EVERETT—Volunteers of America Western Washington (VOAWW) announced the launch of VOAWW Connect, a new locally operated resource navigation service dedicated to residents of Snohomish and Skagit counties, that is set to begin operations on January 2, 2026. The initiative builds on nearly two decades of community support previously provided under the North Sound 211 banner.

“VOAWW Connect allows us to align our resource navigation services more closely with our mission and values,” said Amanda Etchey, Director of VOAWW Connect. “By keeping these services local, we can respond faster, build stronger community partnerships, and provide support that goes beyond information and referral. Our team is deeply connected to the communities we serve, and this evolution ensures that every individual seeking help is met with compassion, respect, and expertise.”
The new service will continue to function as the primary access point for Coordinated Entry intakes in Snohomish County and will lead Coordinated Entry coordination in Skagit County. Local staff will provide personalized guidance tailored to the specific needs of the region, fostering stronger community partnerships and faster response times.
While the program adopts a new name and focused geographic scope, its core mission—delivering compassionate, personalized, and locally informed resource navigation—remains unchanged.
Since 2006, VOAWW has served as the regional operator for Information & Referral services across five North Sound counties, annually connecting thousands of individuals to critical resources such as food assistance, housing support, transportation, behavioral health services, and substance use treatment. The transition to VOAWW Connect follows the statewide consolidation of Washington 211 into a centralized contact center model, enabling VOAWW to maintain a localized, hands-on approach with the same experienced team to ensure continuity of care.
Residents can access VOAWW Connect beginning January 2, 2026, by calling the new local number 360-VOA-HELP (360-862-4357) or the existing toll-free line 1-800-223-8145.
Washington 211 will remain an active statewide partner, referring callers to VOAWW’s broader network of services as appropriate. The collaboration is designed to support a seamless transition with no interruption in assistance for those in need.
