MARYSVILLE –If you’re a Marysville resident who wants to get more involved in your city, consider applying to serve on the Parks, Culture and Recreation Advisory Board or the Planning Commission.

The opening on the Parks, Culture and Recreation Advisory Board is to complete a term ending in February 2027. The board meets at 5 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every odd-numbered month. It advises the Parks, Culture and Recreation department and the City Council on long-range planning for parks, facilities and programs. It also develops operating rules and policies for facilities and programs.
The vacancy on the Planning Commission is to complete a term ending in August 2026. The seven-member Planning Commission serves as an advisory board to the Mayor and City Council on land use issues. The Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Candidates must live within Marysville city limits. To be considered for either appointment, please submit a letter of interest and resume by Friday, Dec. 12, to CityClerk@marysvillewa.gov (put ‘Parks Board application’ or ‘Planning Commission application’ in the subject line) or to City Clerk, 501 Delta Ave., Marysville, WA 98270.
Appointments are appointed by Mayor Jon Nehring and confirmed by the City Council, and applicants must pass a criminal background check.
