LAKE STEVENS—Around 5 p.m., Thursday, December 4, the Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) located and arrested Mark Guba, 30 of Lake Stevens, for first-degree armed robbery—a Class A felony.

Patrol deputies responded to a robbery at a convenience store gas station in the 16400 block of 84th Street NE in Lake Stevens that occurred at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies reviewed surveillance footage and learned that the suspect arrived on a motorcycle carrying a backpack, removed an AK-47 rifle from the backpack, entered the store, pointed the weapon at the clerk, and demanded money. The clerk complied with the demands and the suspect fled.
Through the joint efforts of north county patrol deputies and Robbery Burglary Unit (RBU) detectives, the suspect was identified as a 30-year-old Lake Stevens man. The Violent Offender Task Force conducted surveillance on the suspect and arrested him at 5 p.m. Thursday at his residence in the 10300 block of 129th Ave NE. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for first-degree robbery.
During the arrest, deputies observed the motorcycle, helmet, riding gear, backpack, and rifle used in the robbery in plain view inside the suspect’s open garage. RBU detectives obtained a search warrant to recover the evidence.
The 30-year-old suspect is expected to make his first court appearance in Snohomish County at 1 p.m. today. This remains an active investigation.
