LYNNWOOD—The Lynnwood City Council Position #6 vacancy begins on January 1, 2026, and will be filled by appointment until the November 2027 election certification. To be eligible to be appointed to the Lynnwood City Council from February 2026 until the November 2027 election is certified, candidates:
- Must have continuously resided within the Lynnwood City limits for a minimum of one year prior to your appointment to the council (Use our Do I Live in Lynnwood map to see if you live within Lynnwood City Limits), andÂ
- Must be a registered voter in the city, 18 years of age or over. These are the same minimum state law requirements that apply to all elected Councilmembers.
To be considered, your application must be completed, signed, and received electronically or at Lynnwood City Hall, 19100 44th Avenue W., no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026. Mailing postmark is NOT acceptable. Additional written information after this date will not be accepted, unless requested by the City Council.

Interviews
The City Council will interview up to eight (8) applicants on the evening of Tuesday, January 20, with an anticipated final decision on Monday, January 26. The appointed Council Member’s first meeting will be on Monday, February 2, 2026
