Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 2:31 p.m. to the 15600 block of Green Mountain Road after reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway and landed in a ditch.

Upon arrival, deputies found the driver deceased. No other vehicles or individuals were involved, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s Collision Investigation Unit took over the probe and found no signs of additional factors beyond the solo incident. While the investigation continues, detectives believe a medical event may have contributed to the crash.

Green Mountain Road is a two-lane rural route frequently used by local residents in the Granite Falls area, northeast of the Seattle region.

The driver’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will handle positive identification as well as determination of the cause and manner of death.
