Second teen-on-teen Lynnwood shooting within 72-hours

LYNNWOOD—Snohomish County Sheriff Deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 15900 block of Highway 99 in unincorporated Lynnwood at approximately 8:50 p.m., Sunday, March 8.

Upon arrival, they discovered a 17-year-old male victim, with a gunshot wound. The victim quickly pointed out the fleeing suspect, and deputies were able to apprehend the 15-y/o male nearby the scene. The 17-year-old victim was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

A stolen pistol was recovered with an extended 30-round magazine at the scene, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.

The 15-year-old male suspect was arrested and booked into Denny Juvenile Justice Center for first-degree assault, possession of a stolen firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The victim and suspect are known to each other.

The Lynnwood Times is awaiting confirmation from the Sheriff’s Office if this shooting is linked to the Meadowdale Park shooting of a 15-year-old that occurred on March 6.

This remains an active investigation.
