EVERETT— On March 9, 2026, the US Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force made an arrest following a multiple fatality collision which occurred in Everett in November of 2024.
“Our hearts remain with the victims and their families as they continue to face the impacts and unimaginable loss caused by this tragedy,” said Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin. “While an arrest cannot undo that harm, I want to thank the Everett Police Department and the partner agencies whose tireless efforts helped bring the suspect into custody and move this case toward justice.”

On November 9, 2024, at approximately 12:40 am, Everett Police officers responded to a collision in the 11700 block of Airport Road. At that time, deputies with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office were on scene of the collision location and reported 5 individuals had been struck by a vehicle which had veered off the roadway.
Prior to the collision, a neighboring law enforcement agency attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle near the intersection of Airport Rd and E Gibson Rd. The vehicle fled the attempted stop and shortly thereafter disregarded a red traffic light at the intersection of Airport Rd and Evergreen Way.
Once through the intersection, the vehicle lost control and began to slide. The vehicle traveled out of the road and through a group of people gathered on the north side of 7-11, 11825 Airport Road. Once it came to rest, multiple people were seen by witnesses fleeing from the vehicle.
Immediately following the collision, a K9 track was initiated, and drones were utilized to attempt to locate the fleeing subjects. Multiple individuals were initially detained, some of whom were occupants of the vehicle. The subjects involved were not cooperative with the investigation, and the driver of the vehicle could not be immediately determined. As such, the individuals were identified and released pending further investigation.
Three of the victims, Heather Sullivan, Jonathan Anderson, and a male in his early 30s, died at the scene. Two additional victims, Micaela Perry and a female in her late 20s, were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Since this tragic incident, members of the Everett Police Traffic Safety Unit, Major Crimes Unit, Property Crimes Unit, Anti-Crime Team (ACT), Violent Crime Unit (VCU), and the Snohomish County Violent Offenders Task Force, have worked to identify, locate, and apprehend the suspect driver.
Through a thorough investigation, it was determined the suspect driver, who was a juvenile at the time of this incident, fled to California.
Additionally, it was determined an 18-year-old male occupant of the vehicle disposed of a fully automatic handgun while fleeing the collision scene. The firearm was later recovered by police. He was arrested and charged with weapons violations, including Unlawful Firearm – Machine Gun, and Large Capacity Magazine Violation in early 2025.
On March 9, 2026, the 18-year-old suspect driver was located in Los Angeles by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force and taken into custody.
The suspect is being held in California while arrangements are made to return him to Snohomish County. He will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for three counts of Murder 2, two counts of Vehicular Assault, and one count of Hit and Run (Death).
This apprehension is the result of a multijurisdictional effort: Washington State Patrol, Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team, Tacoma Police Department, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Mill Creek Police Department, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Mukilteo Police Department and the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office.
